How are you going to experience the Eclipse?
If you haven’t made plans, why don’t you join the 2017 Mr. Philadelphia Fetish Zero Onyx for a dang good time on the top floor of the Bike Stop! Saturday 19th August starting at 10pm. Gear is encouraged and appreciated, but not mandatory. There’s no cover… just a good time!
Jello Shots, Raffles and music by DJ Theo Storm!
Come get some!
On Saturday June 3rd the Bike Stop hosted a Celebration for AJ on his floor of the bar; our old friend and former bartender Mike G. returned to serve drinks (with 100% of tips collected going to Wilmagination’s Outside the Classroom in AJ’s name) and join us in celebrating the life of someone who indelibly touched all of ours. We were incredibly thankful for everyone who came out and donated to the cause and who shared photos, memories and stories about their wonderful friendships with AJ. The fundraiser is still going via GoFundMe, so if you can throw in a little extra it would be most welcome.
We’re still feeling the loss and missing him greatly, but being surrounded by so many people who loved him made for a very healing day.
On Saturday May 20th at 11pm The Bike Stop will be hosting the Philadelphia Gryphons Rugby Club for the Colonial Cup 2017 Dance Party!
There will be a suggested donation of $5 to enter the dance floor (the rest of the bar is no cover) but Colonial Cup lanyard holders will get in free! Come shake your booty till 2am with a rowdy group of rugged ruggers! The Gryphons own DJ Ash will be providing the music so gear up and come on out!!!
The Bike Stop family suffered immeasurable loss this week with the passing of our beloved bartender (and friend) AJ. We’re still at a loss for words. Thank you so much for the outpouring of love you’ve sent to the bar and staff- seeing how many hearts he touched is helping more than we can say. We don’t have any information yet on services, but we will update when we hear.
So we have found ourselves at the end of another era. After 10 years of steadfast and selfless service, our brother Gaines is ending his Bike Stop run tonight. During his tenure here he’s served as Door Man, Barback, Bartender, Manager, GM and all around go-to guy. We consider our staff to be a part of our family and no matter where they go, they’ll always be in our hearts. We’re sure he’s going to have many amazing adventures as he starts his new life in North Carolina, but the indelible mark he’s left on this bar and the customers he’s made happy over the years will be sticking around for years to come.
Thank you, my friend. Now go and give ’em hell!
It’s been just over a month since the tragic shootings at Orlando’s PULSE Night Club, a night that claimed the lives of 49 beautiful souls and who’s impact is still being felt. For those of us in Philadelphia it happened the night before our yearly Pride celebration; as the GM of a Leather Bar I was getting concerned texts from friends all over the world warning me about going into work for fear that the violence would continue.
I thanked them all for their concern and came into work emboldened by the love and support of a community that’s used to taking our hits, taking insults and bashings and being considered less than just for being who we are. I’ve worked a lot of Prides and Outfests and while there was a tangible sense of mourning in all of our hearts… this year truly reminded me what an amazing community we have in Philadelphia, what an amazing community we have with our LGBTQ family all over the world.
On Thursday July 21st 2016, starting at 7pm, we’re going to be joining thirteen other area bars and restaurants and letting our family in Orlando know that we love them very much. There will be charity Tshirts for sale, guest bartenders and a whole lot of love.
Please come out and show your support at any of the listed participating bars!
Our hearts are broken but our love for our community is stronger than ever. Our Orlando brothers and sisters are very much in our thoughts.
There is an URGENT need for O Negative, O Positive and AB Plasma blood donors in Orlando right now. Members of the LGBT communities are permitted to donate. Please help if you can and are in the area:
