How Do I Get There?
|
First, a note about parking: The Bike Stop is located in Center City Philadelphia. And like most major cities, parking is a pain in the ass. Though for a major metropolitan city, it could be worse. PAY ATTENTION TO POSTED PARKING SIGNS. The parking is limited to certain times of day. They tow when they say they will. And they ticket overtime parking until the end of the posted times, usually 8 or 8:30 PM, seven days a week. So take it from us, you can find on street parking, but your best bet is a garage or ATTENDED lot. There is one directly behind the bar on 12th Street, across from the 12th Street Gym. You still have to walk around the block to enter the bar. The parking lot for Thomas Jefferson Hospital is 1/2 block east on 11th but it can cost you a car payment if you stay more than a couple of hours. Convenient and priced because they know it. There are two garages on 12th Street north of Walnut Street, which are reasonable. The one on the East Side of 12th is valet where they park your car for you. It is advisable to tip the attendant, especially if you have to wake him up to get in after midnight to get your car. Across 12th on the West Side is a self-park ramp garage. It's a little cheaper and you don't have to tip. Keep in mind we are situated in the heart of a theater/restaurant/hospital neighborhood. When there are shows at the theaters it can be murder to park before 10 PM. Another thing to keep in mind: DON'T LEAVE THINGS VISIBLE IN YOUR CAR. This is a city and we are in one of the best neighborhoods but thieves don't steal where the poor people live. Now that you are thrilled at the prospect of getting here, follow these directions.
