Wow what a night!
Congratulations to Nick Hollup and Heather Raquel – our new Mr. & Ms. Philadelphia Leather 2017! They join a family of amazing Leather men and women who’ve represented our City/Bar over the last three decades. We look forward to the great things they’re going to accomplish during their title year.

They competed against a group of truly exceptional Leatherfolk who we’re also very proud to have gotten to know and hope will join us again in 2018. We couldn’t have pulled off the evening without the tireless contributions of our brothers and sisters in the Philadelphians MC, our former Mr. & Ms. title holders and our guest contest judge- PA Representative Brian Sims. Thank you to everyone who helped shine a light on our Philadelphia Leather Community- you make doing what we do worth it!

It’s time for the 2017 Mr & Ms Philadelphia Leather Contest!
Saturday February 11th at the Bike Stop. We’re going to have more information coming soon, but for now- save the date and get you gear ready because when the contest ends the party begins. Our friends the Philadelphians MC will be hosting their always awesome GET UP, GEAR OUT event and it’s a can’t miss.

Leather is a community that represents itself visibly and recognizably, which inherently denies the instinct that people within the broader LGBTQ community might have to ‘blend’ or ‘pass’ for their own safety. As such, it’s more important than ever to be unified in our visibility, unapologetic in it, and supportive of one another. ~Alaina Hummel, Ms Philly Leather 2016.

For most of us 2016 has been… something. It’s felt like a marathon being run with a pair of shoes that are two sizes too small; sure you’re going to get where you’re going but it’s not going to feel too good getting there. At the Bike Stop we’ve been trying to collectively exhale, count our blessings and do our best to get ready to welcome 2017 and everything it has to offer.

Thursday, December 8th @ 9pm.

Winter may be here, but we know how to keep you warm.
Remember Vice has a free coat check and all you geared up studs in one place make it pretty hot.

You know what comes next right..?
It’s the Run Down…..
If you know this part, skip to the Bottom (even if you’re a Top!)

Vice is Philadelphia’s Monthly Gear Party
It is held at the Bike Stop
and can be found every 2nd Thursday.

What is Gear?
Traditional code structured parties have a more strict definition of gear

At Vice “gear” exists within the same spectrum but is defined by what makes you feel sexy.

We are body positive
We are gear enthusiasts
We want to see you out in your gear

Leather, rubber, neoprene, Lycra, Sports kit, Military, Suits, pup gear, Levi’s, boots, jocks…..need we go on?
Vice features

3 Floors
Free Door Prizes
Free Gear and Toy Raffle
Free clothing Check for your muggle clothes
Whiskey Special until Midnight
Great Music
Wall to wall Gear clad studs

To participate in the raffle you’ll need to check in at the coat check.

The raffle starts at 12 in the pit.

The Bike Stop family is… well.. a family.
One of the things we’ve heard pretty frequently over the years is that it’s impossible to get hired here because no one ever leaves. We’re proud of creating a space where our staff become members of our family and stick with us, grow with us and when needed move into new positions. You’ve probably seen this gentleman around the bar for the last few years in several different capacities; Maso started as a customer and was asked to join us at the clubhouse a little over three years ago.

As of last week when our dear Gaines moved down south (it’s like one of our sons went off to college; we’re checking in to make sure he’s eating and getting enough sleep) Maso has accepted the position of Main Bar bartender. He’s stepping behind a bar that’s been home to legendary Bike Stop staffers and we couldn’t be more proud of the work he’s done in his time with us.

So come wish him luck- You can find Maso on the main bar on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights as well as hosting his epic VICE!PHILADELPHIA party every second Thursday down in the ‘Pit.

It’s been a stellar year for Philadelphia Leather and we’re happy to be part of the fun! Come celebrate the end of 2016 with some amazing Leather Women on Friday December 30th in the Pit Stop. Starting at 7pm the basement will be open and our amazing guest bartenders be slinging drinks and saying goodbye to 2016 in style. Gear is encouraged but not mandatory.

So we have found ourselves at the end of another era. After 10 years of steadfast and selfless service, our brother Gaines is ending his Bike Stop run tonight. During his tenure here he’s served as  Door Man, Barback, Bartender, Manager, GM and all around go-to guy. We consider our staff to be a part of our family and no matter where they go, they’ll always be in our hearts. We’re sure he’s going to have many amazing adventures as he starts his new life in North Carolina, but the indelible mark he’s left on this bar and the customers he’s made happy over the years will be sticking around for years to come.

Thank you, my friend. Now go and give ’em hell!

We’ve added a few new products to our beer lineup here at the ‘Stop- including delicious lager from the fine folks at Brooklyn Brewery. It comes in at a comfortable 5.2% ABV. In the late 1800’s Brooklyn was one of the largest brewing centers in the country, home to more than 45 breweries. Lager beer in the “Vienna” style was one of the local favorites. Brooklyn Lager is amber-gold in color and displays a firm malt center supported by a refreshing bitterness and floral hop aroma. Caramel malts show in the finish. The aromatic qualities of the beer are enhanced by “dry-hopping”, the centuries-old practice of steeping the beer with fresh hops as it undergoes a long, cold maturation. The result is a wonderfully flavorful beer, smooth, refreshing and very versatile with food. Dry-hopping is largely a British technique, which we’ve used in a Viennese-style beer to create an American original.

Come in and have a cold one!
